Review

When the time came that I could no longer care for my mom at home, it was a heartbreaking decision to make. However, I am grateful that we found Good Shepherd, a facility that provided excellent care for her. In fact, it was by far the best option within a 100-mile radius. The professionalism displayed by the staff and administration is truly awesome. They took care of my mother very well, attending to her needs promptly and ensuring a clean environment.

I have no hesitation in recommending Good Shepherd to anyone who asks me. It is truly a classy facility where I would confidently place anyone. Their commitment to providing quality care is commendable, and I am thankful for their dedication and service. May God bless them all!

During the three years that my grandmother was a resident at Home of the Good Shepherd until her passing, I felt that she generally received adequate attention and treatment. While there were some instances where she needed immediate assistance or medical care, and it took longer than desired for her to receive it, overall her needs were met satisfactorily.

However, there were occasional issues that raised concerns during my visits. There were instances where items were stolen from her room due to the lack of a door on it. Additionally, patients with mental health issues would sometimes wander into her room unnoticed by the staff. These incidents highlighted areas where improvements could be made in terms of security measures and ensuring patient safety.

On the positive side, the facility itself was clean despite being housed in an older building. The dining area offered good-quality meals, which added to my grandmother's comfort during her stay. The staff appeared well-trained but seemed understaffed during my visits, which I believe impacted their ability to provide prompt assistance when needed.

Accessing Good Shepherd was convenient as it was easily reachable via the Washington Avenue exit off of I-70 and located in Wheeling, WV. Free parking adjacent to the facility made it hassle-free for visitors and families.

In conclusion, while there were some areas that could be improved upon, Good Shepherd provided adequate care for my grandmother. The facility's commitment to cleanliness and addressing patients' needs was evident, even if there were instances where immediate attention was delayed. Overall, it remains a viable option for individuals seeking quality care within the area.
