This assisted living community left a lasting positive impression after my mom lived there for two years. I can confidently say that the level of care, the kindness of the staff, and the overall atmosphere are exactly what you'd hope for when choosing a place for a loved one. The owner and her team consistently showed genuine concern and respect for every resident, and they treated each person as if they were part of their own family. For anyone who wants to feel comfortable and assured that their loved one is in good hands, this is the kind of place to consider. I'm a meticulous person by nature, and this facility not only met but exceeded my expectations.
The facility operates as a home-type setup with two separate houses, each designed to feel like a welcoming home rather than a clinical setting. One home accommodates ten residents and the other five, which helps keep the environment intimate and manageable. The houses and surrounding grounds are well maintained, contributing to a sense of order and safety. Both properties feature enclosed yards with greenery, a large patio, and a barbecue area, offering residents plenty of outdoor opportunities in a secure space.
Inside, the living arrangements are designed for comfort and convenience. There are both private and semi-private bedrooms available, with some rooms having private baths and others sharing. All rooms are handicapped equipped, ensuring accessibility for residents with varying needs. The homes themselves are clean and nicely decorated, providing a homey feel. Common areas include a living room, a dining room, and a TV room where residents can relax, socialize, and participate in activities.
The facility is capable of supporting all three levels of care, though they do not accept residents with psych or behavioral needs. An RN is on staff five days a week and on call for additional support, which adds an important layer of medical oversight. Care is provided by certified caregivers, with a staffing plan that includes two aides in the morning and afternoon and one on the night shift. On occasion, a caregiver can assist with transportation to appointments, and there is also support for taking residents to necessary appointments as needed.
Nutrition and dining are well regarded here. The home cooking offers a variety of menus and snacks, and the food is described as good. The emphasis on meals that taste comforting and familiar helps maintain a sense of normalcy and satisfaction for residents. The ability to enjoy well-prepared meals within a caring community contributes greatly to the overall quality of life for the residents.
Social activities and engagement are a strong aspect of daily life. The community offers an exercise program, rehab services, bingo, karaoke, parties, and BBQs, all designed to promote physical health and social connection. Residents are transported to the local senior center five days a week, with additional transportation provided by caregivers for shopping trips when needed. This active schedule helps residents stay engaged, connected with others, and participating in meaningful routines.
Overall, this is a clean, well-run facility with plenty of positive options for residents and families. The combination of a warm, family-like atmosphere, well-maintained homes, attentive care staff, solid medical oversight, enjoyable meals, and a vibrant activity calendar makes it a standout option for anyone seeking a nurturing and reliable place for a loved one. The experience left me confident in the care my mom received and reassured that she was in capable hands every day.
