Norwalk Skilled Nursing was a temporary home for my mother over the course of three months, and I am grateful for the experience we had while she was there. Initially referred to this facility while she was still in the hospital, I was hopeful that it would provide the care and environment necessary for her rehabilitation. From the very beginning, it became clear that Norwalk Skilled Nursing lived up to its reputation as a supportive and nurturing place for residents. The staff members were not only well-trained but also exemplified compassion and kindness in their interactions with both patients and families.

One of the most notable aspects of our experience at Norwalk was the warmth displayed by the staff. They were incredibly loving and friendly, treating my mom with dignity and respect throughout her stay. Each time we visited or interacted with them, they greeted us with smiles and took the time to address any questions or concerns we had regarding my mother's care. Their willingness to help made a significant difference during what could have been a stressful period for our family. After several weeks at Norwalk, my mother commented on getting tired of the repetitive menu choices served daily. While meals are essential for nutrition, they can also play an important role in overall satisfaction during such an extended stay; thus diversifying meal options could greatly enhance residents’ dining experiences and improve morale.

Additionally, there were instances during visits when I observed an unpleasant smell permeating certain areas within the facility. Maintaining cleanliness is absolutely critical in environments like skilled nursing homes since odors can impact both health standards and resident comfort levels. While this issue may not reflect on every aspect of care provided at Norwalk Skilled Nursing or diminish our overall appreciation for their services, addressing such hygiene matters would undoubtedly contribute to an even more favorable atmosphere for all residents moving forward.
