The facility offered a home-like environment. The director, assistant director, and staff were described as having a good sense of humor and a welcoming vibe. Care Partners on Birch Street feels like one big happy family. Residents love the staff, and the staff love the residents. It is heartwarming to see residents engage in activities such as puzzles, painting, crafts, music, and singing together. The staff are friendly and courteous. The location is easy to find. The atmosphere when visitors come is calm and friendly.
Staff weren't wearing masks, and the Director did not seem to have a coherent plan for mitigating risk of Covid-19 despite months of warnings. Covid ran rampant through this place in 2020. The care givers at this place do not wear masks, and most have tested positive for covid. My friend's great grandfather not only has pneumonia, but covid too. Staff comes to work with COVID and gives residents COVID, unprofessional and reckless considering what kind of impact it has on older people. Nurses don't wear masks, even during pandemic. They worked while having covid. Yikes. During a global pandemic care takers do not wear masks, and continued to care for the elderly after testing positive. This is both irresponsible and reckless on their behalf.
