Cons
The Assisted Living side felt a little dark.
HRP should have called mom’s insurance company, reported her injuries and requested that her coverage be extended so she could heal. Instead, they discharged her.
Mom ended up back in the hospital for a second time.
I'm so very sorry to this day that I let my mother into this HORRIBLE, UNORGANIZED, NON CARING, NEGLECTFUL, RUDE, UNATTENTIVE, MISGUIDED, UNPROFESSIONAL, NONRESPONSIVE, FACILITY!!!!!
THIS FACILITY NEGLECTED MY MOTHER'S MEDICAL NEEDS. WHEN I PICKED UP MY MOM, SHE WAS DIRTY, SMELLY, HER HAIR WAS VERY MATTED, VERY SICK, AND CLEARLY NEGLECTED!!!
Don't let the reviews, the appearance of the facility, and the untruths told by the administration fool you!!
My mom had to choose between multiple facilities when she was discharged from the hospital and this one was on the list. So glad she chose it.
Review
The Healthcare Resort of Plano is a facility that offers both assisted living and short-term rehabilitation services. While some reviewers had positive experiences, there were also concerns raised about the quality of care provided.
One reviewer mentioned that the Assisted Living side of the facility felt a little dark during their tour. This could be an indication of potential issues with lighting or ambiance in that area.
Another reviewer shared a troubling experience regarding their mother's stay at HRP. Initially, therapy was successful, and their mother made progress in self-care and mobility. However, after a weekend stay due to a problem with new accommodations, their mother fell three times and was reinjured. HRP discharged her instead of extending her coverage for further healing. This ultimately resulted in her condition worsening.
On the other hand, several positive reviews highlighted the caring and friendly staff at HRP. Many appreciated the cleanliness of the facility and praised specific individuals such as nurse Ashley for providing exceptional care.
Some reviewers specifically mentioned how COVID precautions were taken seriously by the staff, which alleviated concerns about safety during these challenging times.
A recurring theme among positive reviews was communication between staff members and residents' families. The administrator, Max, was described as being actively involved in addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
Multiple reviewers expressed gratitude for the overall level of care provided at HRP compared to other skilled nursing facilities they had experienced previously. They commended the therapy team for their expertise in assisting with rehabilitation needs.
The appearance of the facility was consistently praised by those who left positive reviews. From clean rooms to beautiful common areas, HRP seemed to make efforts in creating an aesthetically pleasing environment for its residents.
In summary, while some negative experiences were shared regarding inadequate care and neglectful treatment at Healthcare Resort of Plano, there were also numerous positive reviews highlighting caring staff members, clean facilities, effective therapy programs, and prompt communication from management. It is important for individuals considering this facility to carefully review both positive and negative experiences before making a decision.
