Review

When we decided to visit a senior care facility, we were met with disappointment. Despite my phone call prior to our arrival, we were not informed that there were no clients currently residing at the home. It seemed that the owner was starting over, making changes to the building in hopes of attracting new residents. The freshly painted walls and newer bedding gave the impression of an updated environment, but upon closer inspection, it became clear that there was still work to be done.

One of the main concerns was the state of the bathrooms. Despite some cosmetic improvements, they were still in need of repairs. This raised questions about the level of maintenance and attention to detail within the facility. For a private room, we had been quoted a staggering $3500, which seemed exorbitant given the condition of the building. It left us questioning whether this pricing was justified or simply an attempt to capitalize on potential clients.

Considering that I was planning to move my mother-in-law soon, I couldn't fathom placing her in an empty building devoid of any other residents. Such an environment would undoubtedly be depressing for her and for us as well. Senior care facilities should strive to create a vibrant community where residents can socialize and engage with one another. Unfortunately, this facility fell short in providing that sense of companionship.

The lack of transparency regarding the absence of clients during our visit also raised concerns about how forthcoming they would be about other aspects related to care and services provided. Trust is crucial when choosing a facility for your loved ones; thus, it is disheartening when important information is withheld.

Furthermore, while efforts had been made to revamp the appearance of the building, it remained undeniably old. The charm that comes with age can be appreciated up to a certain extent; however, when combined with unresolved maintenance issues and high pricing, it becomes harder to overlook these shortcomings.

In summary, our experience visiting this senior care facility was marked by disappointment and a sense of unease. The lack of clients, unfinished repairs in the bathrooms, and the questionable pricing left us with doubts about the overall quality and value of the facility. Moving a loved one into an empty building would undoubtedly contribute to a depressing atmosphere for both her and our family. When seeking a senior care facility, transparency, upkeep, and reasonable pricing should be key considerations in making an informed decision.
