Review

When it comes to caring for loved ones with dementia, finding a reliable and professional caregiver is of utmost importance. However, one individual's experience with a particular caregiving company has left much to be desired. According to the reviewer, there has been a constant revolving door of caregivers for over a year, with most of them doing little to nothing in terms of providing care.

Initially, the reviewer and the company agreed upon a detailed Plan of Care (POC) tailored specifically to their mom's needs. However, much to their disappointment, they later discovered that certain aspects of the POC could not be implemented. This revelation came after the POC had already been signed, leaving the reviewer feeling deceived and frustrated.

One of the main issues brought up in this review is the lack of backup provided when a caregiver fails to show up. Despite assurances that backup support would be available, the reviewer claims it has never happened. This lack of reliability exacerbates an already difficult situation for both their mom with dementia and their 93-year-old father.

It seems that there is also a lack of accountability within this caregiving company. The reviewer mentions that no one checks the Plan of Care or reviews the work sheets filed by caregivers at their home. Even worse, when confronted about these issues, the nurse assigned to their case appears unwilling to take responsibility.

The dissatisfaction expressed in this review extends beyond just poor training and supervision. The reviewer states that some goals outlined in the Plan of Care have not been addressed or worked on for five months. This neglect further highlights the lackadaisical approach taken by this particular caregiving company toward providing adequate care.

Despite all these negative experiences with the company, there is mention of one exceptional caregiver who truly made a positive impact during her time working with their mom. Unfortunately, it seems this exceptional level of care was not representative of the overall quality provided by other staff members at this agency.

In conclusion, this review sheds light on a series of disappointments and shortcomings by a caregiving company supposedly specializing in dementia care. The lack of trained staff, failure to provide backup support, neglect of the agreed-upon Plan of Care, and absence of supervision visits have all contributed to the reviewer's negative opinion and their ultimate decision not to recommend this service.
