Review

From the moment my dad and I first brought Mom to Holy Hill, we felt something special about the place. It isn't just that Holy Hill is a beautiful home; there is a warmth and welcoming atmosphere that makes a difficult decision feel a little gentler. We could tell right away that Mary is deeply liked by the residents, and it was clear that Mom would be cared for with genuine kindness. The overall impression was that this place would be a home where Mom could thrive, even as she faced the challenge of needing more support.

The beauty of the home is matched by the character of the people who run it. Mary stands out as an amazing woman with a beautiful family of her own, and it's obvious she pours a tremendous amount of energy into her work. I don't pretend to know exactly how she does it all, but her dedication is evident in every interaction we observed. Even though it's hard to see Mom move away from us, choosing Holy Hill felt right, and I am grateful that we took that step when we did.

My Dad, in particular, formed a strong connection with Mary. He really likes her and believes that Mom is in good hands under her care. Mary's energetic and outgoing personality is especially important for the ladies who are patients there; her presence seems to bring a liveliness and reassurance that resonates with them. Watching Mary engage with Mom - how she talks with her, how she includes her in activities, and how she carries herself with confidence - left us with a sense of trust that this is a place where Mom can be happy and well-cared-for.

The decision to place a loved one in a care home is never easy, but this experience reaffirmed that it can be the right choice when it's handled with compassion and competence. If you ever find yourself needing to make that difficult call, I would highly recommend Holy Hill. The peace of mind that comes from knowing Mom is being looked after by people who genuinely care is invaluable, and I'm grateful for the care we've seen there. Special thanks go to Mary and Mary's husband for the wonderful level of care they provide.

A lot of the credit for how well this transition has felt has to do with the family he has built around Mom at Holy Hill. My Dad did an amazing job caring for Mom for 12 years, but with his own age and energy - he's 86 now - it became too much to continue on that level. Holy Hill has given him the reassurance that Mom is in capable hands, and it has given us all a sense of relief and hope for her ongoing well-being. The way Mom is treated, the attention she receives, and the ongoing support from the staff are a testament to the care culture at Holy Hill.

I can't wait to visit Mom again, and I'm already looking forward to seeing Mary and catching up with the community there. This place has become a comforting, trustworthy home away from home for our family, and the prospect of seeing Mary again only reinforces how right this decision has been. To anyone facing a similar situation, consider Holy Hill as a serious option - our experience has shown it to be a place where a loved one can be cherished, engaged, and cared for with real kindness. Mary truly is the best, and her team - including her husband - deserves heartfelt thanks for the outstanding care they provide.
