At first she was resistant.Several years ago, our family faced the difficult milestone of moving a loved one with advancing dementia into a care setting. We chose Lynette's after considering what would provide not just safety and daily support, but warmth and genuine compassion. At first, our mother-in-law was resistant to the change, understandably uneasy about leaving a familiar home. Yet the staff and environment at Lynette's proved to be remarkably kind and loving. In just a week or two, she began to feel comfortable and settled, almost as if she had found a place where she truly belonged.
What followed was a calm, steady period of care that reflected both attentiveness and a respectful approach to her dignity. She stayed at Lynette's for three years, a span during which the home celebrated meaningful moments in ways that mattered to our family. Her birthday was marked with care and attention, turning it into a special, shared celebration. The staff organized holiday meals and celebrations for Thanksgiving and Christmas, inviting whatever family members could attend, so there was always a sense of community and togetherness around the table. The family was welcomed warmly; visits were encouraged, and we grew to be fond of many of the other residents who shared the home with us.

There was a calm pace and a small, intimate atmosphere - Lynette's housed only about ten residents at a time, which helped create a more homelike environment rather than a large, institutional feel. In January 2021, our mother-in-law passed away, and the care team at Lynette's stood with us at that difficult time. Mariana, the owner, was thoughtful and proactive, keeping us informed as her condition neared end and ensuring we could arrange last rites according to our faith. This level of consideration and practical support made a profound difference during a moment that was already emotionally trying. It was clear that Mariana understood not only the medical and logistical needs, but the spiritual and ceremonial needs of the family as well.
