Review

In recent times, my mother made the decision to transition into a new community, and I'm pleased to report that things have been going well for her thus far. The staff at this facility have proven to be easy to work with, and I feel comfortable with the level of care they have provided for my mother. Additionally, she has faced no issues with the meals and actually enjoys participating in some of the activities alongside fellow residents. While we have encountered a few minor problems along the way, we are actively addressing them as expected.

Despite initially experiencing a rocky start, everything seems to have settled down now. Most importantly, my mother's quality of life has improved significantly since moving here. She is engaging in more social interactions with individuals her own age and has become more mobile by walking frequently. It brings me joy to see her happier, and she particularly likes the staff members who consistently encourage her to pursue various activities. In fact, they even designated her as an additional caregiver for another resident who requires extra assistance – an arrangement that makes my mom feel useful.

One aspect of this community that impressed us is their commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare services. Not only does a dentist visit once a month, but other doctors and visiting nurses also attend regularly to ensure the residents' well-being. Blood pressure checks and similar medical tasks are seamlessly incorporated into their routines. Moreover, the food served at this facility is truly enjoyable; however, my mother has noticed that she's gained some weight since moving in – perhaps an indication of how deliciously tempting the meals are.

The physical environment of this home is worth mentioning as it contributes greatly to residents' comfort. The house itself is clean and spacious with ample room for everyone living there. Located near a park, it offers a serene escape where loved ones can take leisurely walks together. Furthermore, emergency plans and other crucial information are prominently displayed on the walls for easy access by both staff and residents. The bathrooms are well-equipped and accommodate the needs of the elderly with raised toilet seats, shower seats, and handheld showerheads.

While the rooms are shared and somewhat on the smaller side, they still provide a cozy and intimate setting for residents. The great room, where the TV is situated, is large enough to accommodate everyone comfortably, boasting recliners that offer additional relaxation opportunities. With three caretakers available around the clock, residents receive constant support and care. Additionally, home health teams are present during weekdays for further assistance.

Although I did not come across an activities calendar during my visits, it's worth noting that this facility places importance on adhering to a strict medication plan. All medications are securely stored in locked cabinets, which ensures their safety. Moreover, the daily menu clearly outlines breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack choices for each resident.

In conclusion, based on the reviews provided above, it seems that this community would be a suitable choice for my mother's needs. With its manageable size of only eight residents at maximum capacity and a range of amenities available – including healthcare services and engaging activities like exercise classes – it appears to be a place where my mother can thrive both physically and socially. Despite one negative opinion expressing dissatisfaction with the home's ambiance being "dark and depressing," overall feedback suggests positive experiences from others who have experienced improved quality of life while residing here.
