When searching for a community, sometimes availability plays a major role in the decision-making process. This was the case for our chosen community, as it was the only location with a room available at the time. However, one positive aspect that stood out was the caring staff. The individuals from A Place for Mom noted that the staff members were attentive and dedicated to their residents.

Located on a one-way street in downtown Chandler, this older home certainly had its charm. With its enormous size, it provided ample space for its 22 residents. Upon entering, visitors would find a front entrance way adorned with comfortable chairs near the office. Pertinent information could be seen near the front door, ensuring easy access for residents and staff alike. Moving further into the home, there was a dining area equipped with several small round tables where residents enjoyed their meals together. Connected to this space was a large TV room with plenty of seating options for everyone.

This particular community operated on various shifts, ensuring that there were caretakers present around the clock. Shift I had four caretakers, while Shift II had three caretakers and Shift III had one caretaker. Additionally, some staff members resided on-site for added convenience and prompt assistance when needed.

One notable feature of this home was its many large additions that housed rooms lined along two long hallways. Each resident enjoyed a private room complete with essential furniture such as bed, dresser, closet, and bedside table. They also had the option to bring their own television set if desired, with cable boxes provided by staff members. Bathroom facilities included two toilets and two showers in the hallway bathroom alone. For ease of use, raised toilet seats and shower seats were available alongside handheld shower heads.

Despite being slightly cozy in size, the great room offered comfort through sofas and recliners where residents could relax while watching television or engaging in activities together. Caretakers were always present in this area to attend to any needs. Additionally, a strict medication protocol was followed, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents with locked cabinets to secure medications.

In terms of meals, this community offered homemade breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with snacks throughout the day. Weekly activities such as Bingo were organized to keep residents engaged and entertained. Visitors were welcome daily from 10 am to 6 pm, with additional hours available by appointment.

Bathrooms in this home were decently sized and equipped with raised toilet seats, shower seats, and handheld shower heads for added convenience and accessibility. Residents enjoyed private and spacious bedrooms that were nicely decorated with all essential furniture provided. The great room housed comfortable sofas and a recliner for resident use.

Just like before, there were two caretakers available around the clock to ensure prompt assistance when needed. In addition to this team, home health professionals tended to residents during weekdays for any medical requirements or concerns that may arise.

Strict protocols regarding medication administration were followed here as well, ensuring safe storage in locked cabinets. The daily menu consisting of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks was displayed on the wall alongside an activities calendar for everyone's convenience.

A lovely backyard was yet another highlight of this community - complete with a gated pool area where residents could relax or take walks around it for exercise purposes. This particular home had a capacity for up to five residents.
