Creekside Inn became the steady and compassionate setting for my family's most difficult years, beginning in 2021 when my mother entered care there amid an advanced stage of Alzheimer's. Over the three years she lived there, the staff consistently offered kindness, patience, and respect toward her and toward us as her family. When she passed away on August 22, 2025, the way the team handled her farewell was marked by grace and dignity that left a lasting impression on us. I am deeply grateful for the care she received, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Creekside Inn to anyone seeking memory care for a loved one.
The majority of the staff clearly demonstrated a genuine heart for the residents; many went above and beyond in ways that touched our family personally. They treated my mother with warmth and attentiveness, and the care they provided felt heartfelt, not transactional. However, there was also a sense of concern about the leadership. In my view, the leadership at Creekside often seemed to operate as if it were run by people who think less about responsibility and more about deflection. The facility experienced a few troubling incidents - my mother fell, her wheelchair and motion alarm disappeared, and her wedding ring vanished - and the default response from administration tended to be that these things happen and that they were not responsible. In the weeks leading up to her passing, we learned that she had stopped eating the prior week, but the staff did not inform us promptly, which added to our sense of frustration and concern. These moments tested the trust we placed in the leadership about accountability and safeguarding vulnerable residents and their belongings.
Despite those criticisms, there were stories on the other side of the coin that solidified Creekside's reputation as a healing, supportive environment. My father-in-law Jeff and his wife Kate were residents, and our family cannot thank Creekside enough for the care they received over the years. I come from a profession that regularly visits care facilities, and I can honestly say Creekside was among the cleanest and most caring communities I have seen. The staff truly felt like family to us, and the gratitude we feel for the care they gave Kate and Jeff runs deep. In these testimonials, the consistency of compassion and professionalism stood out even as we acknowledged areas where leadership could have taken more responsibility.
The experience with Matt Wells was a turning point in our journey with Creekside. After we were connected through Matt, who reached out in the moment of need and arranged a visit despite being out of town and in a different time zone, the relationship quickly grew into a partnership built on knowledge and trust. He guided us as if we were his own family, with complete honesty and transparency - no red flags, no hidden disclosures. His willingness to go the extra mile showed in the early-morning calls to check in, his hospital and care-facility visits, and his ongoing advocacy for the resident and family alike. Matt's positive attitude and genuine care helped give us peace of mind as we navigated the process of moving my mother into Creekside and, more recently, helping us transition my husband there as well when hospital coordination proved challenging.
Speaking of which, the transition for my husband was similarly handled with care and persistence. Within about a week, Creekside and Matt and Alina worked tirelessly to ensure he could be discharged from the hospital directly into the facility. They moved quickly enough to let me set up his room with some treasured items before his arrival, which was crucial during a difficult time. The move was chaotic at times, but the Creekside team bent over backward to make it possible. The most notable practical concern remained the food - at times it was inconsistent, sometimes quite good and other times not palatable. This seemed to be related to different cooks, and the staff did their best to accommodate our preferences. Overall, the care team's responsiveness and dedication during this chaotic transition left a positive impression.
From the moment we walked through the doors for move-in, Creekside's environment communicated care and competence. The room was clean and ready, the staff was kind and attentive, and Creekside Inn did an admirable job of keeping families informed. The atmosphere - characterized by warm decor, familiar pictures and mementos, and a sense of comfort - felt like a home rather than a hospital. The dining halls, activity rooms, and common areas were designed to engage residents, offering opportunities for socialization and interaction. The long hallways were used actively for exercise and greetings, and the overall tone conveyed that residents were secure, engaged, and valued. Matt Wells was a constant presence in the building, known and greeted by residents who appreciated his advocacy and evident compassion; to meet him was to sense the extraordinary spirit that Creekside aims to embody.
The testimonials repeatedly emphasize the outward-facing strengths of this community: its cleanliness, its welcoming atmosphere, and the consistent, compassionate care provided by staff. Families noted that Creekside felt like a warm, protective space where loved ones could be cared for with dignity, and where information flowed - often with proactive communication that helped families feel connected despite distance. The facility's leadership was frequently described as compassionate and involved, and many families spoke highly of the sense of community cultivated by the staff. Notable events, such as a Thanksgiving family gathering, showcased the team's ability to create a family-like, celebratory environment where residents and their families could come together. Attendees described the event as fantastic, with food described as phenomenal and the staff as the kind of people whose hearts feel big enough to bless everyone around them.
In sum, Creekside Inn stands out as a place of genuine care, community, and comfort for families dealing with memory care needs. The staff's empathy and daily dedication provided real relief to families navigating the complex journey of dementia care. At the same time, the experiences shared by families point to an ongoing opportunity for leadership to take fuller responsibility, improve timely communication, and ensure accountability for incidents and property. Despite those challenges, the overall impression across the many stories is one of profound gratitude: a place where residents can feel secure, where families can feel supported, and where the care team demonstrates a remarkable willingness to go above and beyond for the people they serve. For us, Creekside Inn has been, in large measure, a home - one that offered love, meticulous care, and a hopeful path through a difficult chapter.
