Review

On January 8, 2014, I had the opportunity to tour a care facility that left a lasting impression on me. The visit, scheduled for 6:00 pm, allowed me to explore the various amenities and services that the facility offered. It was clear from the outset that this place is dedicated to meeting the needs of its residents with dignity and compassion. One of the standout features of this facility is its commitment to providing transportation for residents, ensuring that they can attend appointments or participate in activities outside the center without any mobility issues.

Additionally, this facility holds DDD certification, which signifies that it meets specific standards required for quality care. This certification is essential as it assures potential residents and their families that they will receive proper attention and support tailored to individual needs. The monthly fee of $2,500 is competitive when considering the array of services included, and there appears to be a willingness on the part of management to work with families regarding income concerns. This flexibility could be a deciding factor for many looking at options for assisted living or memory care.

Another appealing aspect of this facility is its range of activities designed to engage residents and foster a sense of community among them. Regularly scheduled events such as bingo nights and crafts provide opportunities for social interaction and creative expression. These activities are crucial in helping residents maintain cognitive function while also enjoying their time at the facility. It was heartening to see how thoughtfully planned these programs were—providing an enriching environment rather than merely basic care.

Despite these favorable elements, I did have some apprehensions following my visit. One notable concern was that there isn't currently a physician visiting the facility on a monthly basis—a service I would expect in an establishment focusing on medical care alongside daily living support. While there is an RN-CG close by who can attend to health needs, having regular medical oversight would enhance my confidence in choosing this location as a permanent home.

It’s also worth mentioning that they offer different levels of care specifically aimed at individuals with dementia conditions. This tailored approach ensures that each resident receives appropriate support based on their unique health requirements and personal preferences. The development of personalized plans of care demonstrates an understanding by staff members about how varied dementia symptoms can be among individuals; however, more information about the execution and effectiveness of these plans would have been helpful during my tour.

Furthermore, one aspect I appreciated was learning about the owner’s military background as a veteran himself; this often reflects values such as discipline, commitment, and respect ingrained in operational practices within senior care facilities run by veterans. Knowing that leadership understands both caregiving dynamics and possibly even some challenges faced by seniors provides an additional layer of reassurance when consideringa move into assisted living.

Overall, while my tour revealed many positives about this particular facility—including affordability, engaging activities, qualified staff members—with some reservations still lingering in my mind regarding medical oversight and nuances around dementia care plans necessitated further exploration at other locations before arriving at any final decision concerning residency here or elsewhere. Thank you once again to Kevin for facilitating such an informative tour!
