The staff are very nice and the experience is enjoyable every time. The community is lovely, featuring four world-renowned golf courses, plenty of amenities, and residents who take pride in their community. The location is beautiful on the beach. Tigers Eye is well maintained and offers a great layout. Leopard's Chase is an incredible layout with beautiful design and challenging holes. Lion's Paw is in beautiful shape with emerald green fairways and smooth greens. The Big Cats courses provide a wonderful golfing experience and are well maintained. This master-planned community is one of the top in North Carolina and is recognized as one of America's top 100 places to live.
The group was disappointed with the shaggy and slow greens on Tigers Eye. The closing process was delayed due to a lien, with the sellers refusing to satisfy it, and Coastal Communities and the in-house realtor disregarded inquiries. Coastal Communities and the realtor ignored inquiries and refused all communications during the transaction. The new amenities center has become a major letdown and costly. Most everything is broken or has weird issues, and the golf courses are run down with big-time issues involving the developer, including lawsuits. The courses were in terrible shape: greens rough and bumpy, fairways dry and hard, with some reviewers stating they would not recommend them. The pace of play was horrendous due to split tee times. The board's incompetence and gross negligence have allowed facilities to deteriorate, with anticipated large assessments and a lack of financial transparency.
