    Review

After years of neglect, management finally recognized the reason behind the mass exodus and high turnover rate at Heritage Pointe Apartments. The once charming community had fallen into disrepair, with poor maintenance and filth plaguing the premises. It had been fifteen long years since any updates or renovations were made to the apartments. However, with the arrival of a new senior manager, changes began to take place.

Acknowledging the pressing issues at hand, management wasted no time in hiring a cleaning crew for the corridors and repainting the hallways. Additionally, several apartments underwent much-needed upgrades. This effort was aimed at revitalizing the living environment and restoring a sense of pride within the community. Despite these positive changes, there remained one persistent problem - smokers congregating in front of the main entrance.

Despite rigorous reminders that Heritage Pointe was a non-smoking building, individuals continued to disregard this rule. The entrance became perpetually blocked by those smoking under the building overhang day and night. Even new tenants who had signed special addendums to their lease did not seem to comprehend or respect this non-smoking policy. Unfortunately, little could be done to enforce it as many offenders were recipients of Section 8 housing benefits, which meant they held a higher priority than other tenants.

The consequence of this blatant disregard for the non-smoking policy was particularly dire for individuals with respiratory issues such as asthma or other breathing problems. The constant presence of secondhand smoke posed serious health risks and made living in Heritage Pointe nearly unbearable for those affected.

Despite these challenges, there were some redeeming qualities that kept residents satisfied with their choice of living at Heritage Pointe Apartments. The community itself was described as very friendly, fostering an atmosphere of goodwill among its inhabitants. In terms of staffing, while there may not have been an extensive team available to cater to every need, residents praised the superintendant and his wife for their exceptional friendliness and helpfulness.

Heritage Pointe Apartments operated more as a self-sufficient apartment complex rather than a facility providing comprehensive care services. Residents were responsible for their own day-to-day needs, including cooking their meals. Although the individual apartments were deemed suitable for single occupants, some residents mentioned that there were larger communal kitchens available that could accommodate table space for dining.

One reviewer, while appreciative of the affordability offered by Heritage Pointe Apartments, expressed disappointment with the upkeep and maintenance of the property. The pervasive smell of cigarette smoke throughout the building was particularly disheartening considering the supposed non-smoking policy. This critique highlighted the need for improved cleanliness and stricter enforcement of rules within the community.

In conclusion, Heritage Pointe Apartments underwent significant improvements in recent times after enduring years of neglect. With a new senior manager at the helm, efforts were made to address issues such as poor maintenance, filth, and outdated apartments. However, lingering challenges persist regarding smokers disregarding the non-smoking policy and impacting residents' health negatively. While there are limitations in terms of care services provided and ongoing upkeep concerns, many tenants find solace in the friendly community atmosphere and affordable living options at Heritage Pointe.
