The mother was cared for in the most loving and compassionate way at Zachary Manor for over seven years. The care and health of the patient were always a priority for the staff. The nursing staff stayed with her at the end, with the compassionate help of St Joseph Hospice. Dori, the hospice nurse, was extremely helpful and very sympathetic to the family. The facility was very clean and well kept, with pleasant landscaping outside. The staff and nurses were very compassionate to the family and treated them with utmost respect.
The Administrator is rude and unprofessional and not fit to work in a nursing home. The facility is not clean; the floors in the rooms and the carpets in the hallways are dirty. Nobody can provide information when asked a question. Physical therapy is only offered once a day, which is not enough for the patient to walk independently. They left a resident on the toilet for a long time, the resident fell, and help arrived too late. The food is horrible, and even the muffins are hard to eat. The staff tell two different lies and do not care about their patients. No running water in the room; residents are given lukewarm water and rarely changed sheets; the facility feels like a funeral home with a coffin visible outside.Zachary Manor is best suited for families confronting dementia- or end-of-life-focused needs where bedside compassion and consistent caregiver presence are prized, and where families are prepared to supervise and question care on an ongoing basis.
