Review

Avon Manor is a facility that stands out due to its affordability, making it an attractive choice for families in search of quality care for their loved ones. One of the key factors that drew us to this facility was the adequate room sizes, which perfectly met the needs of our family member. Additionally, the staff members at Avon Manor have consistently displayed friendliness and a genuine willingness to assist.

Although we appreciated the affordability and pleasant atmosphere at Avon Manor, we did find room for improvement in terms of communication regarding financial expectations. It would have been beneficial if the administrative staff were more transparent about what they truly require in terms of financial requests. Despite this minor issue, we are overall satisfied with our experience and would recommend Avon Manor to others in search of affordable care options.

The living arrangements at Avon Manor are well-suited to create a sense of comfort and familiarity. We had the opportunity to stay in a two-bedroom house with an additional bedroom created by enclosing the garage. Each spacious bedroom was equipped with two twin beds. The setup allowed for two separate bedrooms for women, while the enclosed room served as accommodation for men. The interior was clean and free from any unpleasant odors, creating a welcoming environment for residents.

During our visit, we encountered a nurse who was baking, filling the air with delightful aromas. She was polite and friendly, reflecting the caring nature of the staff members at Avon Manor. Furthermore, we interacted with other staff members who were similarly kind and understanding. This compassionate approach provided reassurance that our loved ones would receive excellent care.

Despite these positive aspects, we ultimately decided that Avon Manor may not be the best fit for our mother due to her specific needs related to dementia and wandering tendencies. However, it is important to note that this decision is subjective and based on specific circumstances.

Avon Manor prides itself on creating a home-like atmosphere within a quiet and secure private community. Caregivers provide residents with kindness, care, and structure around the clock. Meals are served in a family-style setting, fostering a sense of togetherness. The dining area offers a bright and homey ambiance, complete with a view of the gated backyard garden and waterway beyond the safety fence.

The dedication of owner/manager Mr. Bruce is evident through his personal involvement in the hiring and training of staff members. This hands-on approach ensures that residents receive top-notch care. Within Avon Manor, residents form friendships and find contentment. The front parlor serves as a haven for relaxation, featuring comfortable sofas and recliners. Bedrooms are both clean and tranquil, providing residents with a serene space. Additionally, the bathroom is always clean, safe, and comfortably warm.

One slight drawback we noted was the absence of Spanish-speaking staff members at Avon Manor. This may limit communication options for individuals who primarily speak Spanish or have limited proficiency in English.

Finally, we are pleased to share our positive experience regarding Aunt Ag's transition to Avon Manor as her new home. Initially hesitant about leaving her condo, she quickly realized that this facility provided the care and support she needed. The understanding staff patiently allowed time for adjustment, ultimately leading to Agatha's contentment within her new surroundings. The recently remodeled one-story home features two semi-private rooms, with vacancies available for new residents to seize. Agatha eagerly anticipates spending time on the patio overlooking a grassy area alongside a lovely waterway once the weather cools down.

In conclusion, Avon Manor has proven to be an ideal choice for individuals seeking an intimate and supportive environment for their loved ones. With its emphasis on affordability combined with caring staff members and comfortable living arrangements, it offers peace of mind to concerned families looking for reliable care options in Florida's Resident Care Home system. Our positive experiences serve as testament to Avon Manor's ability to provide a safe and comfortable place that residents can call home.
