The facility is wonderful, with wonderful staff and CNAs. The setting offers a very comfortable home-like environment with staff who feel like family. Administration is genuinely focused on the well-being of residents. The Mar-Ka team is described as awesome and caring. The food is good. The staff are friendly, professional, and welcoming. The Director of Nursing is amazing and very helpful. The administrator is considered the best. The facility has a wonderful, quaint, caring atmosphere. The staff genuinely care about residents and their families.
They ignore the nurse call button and patients' cries for help, bullying residents into being afraid to ask for assistance. There are bugs and water leaks in the rooms, and the facility does nothing about them. In at least one room the 240V outlet hangs out of the wall, and other outlets feel like they could pull right out. It is dangerous, filthy, and staffed with people who don't care about the residents they're supposed to help. They do not answer the phone, ever, and there is no communication with families about residents' status. The administrator is described as a poor leader who is very rude, and who doesn't care about staff, patients, or families.
