Elle's Adult Family Home: A Comfortable Setting with Exceptional Care, but Concerns Arise

Elle's Adult Family Home is a facility that provides care for elderly individuals, offering a comfortable and homey environment in the Matthews Beach neighborhood. After careful consideration, one family decided to place their father in this facility for three years. Their experience was overall positive, with good caregivers and satisfactory care provided. However, their opinion changed when their father reached the end of his life.

The family's father had late-stage Alzheimer's disease and was on palliative care measures while waiting for a hospice intake appointment. Unfortunately, an incident involving applesauce led to a caregiver at Elle's calling 911 unnecessarily. Thankfully, the paramedics recognized that there was no emergent situation and respected the family's decision to refuse transport to the emergency room. This incident raised concerns about some adult family homes potentially attempting to transfer patients to hospitals near the end of life, possibly to avoid paperwork or inconvenience.

Despite these concerns, the family chose Elle's Adult Family Home based on its inviting atmosphere and attentive staff members like Elle herself, as well as Abi and Luciana. The home boasts stunning views of Lake Washington from its second-floor deck and a peaceful ambiance throughout. Each resident has their own bedroom, providing privacy and comfort.

One aspect that stood out was the homemade meals prepared from scratch by Elle herself. Additionally, she readily accommodates special dietary requests from residents. On any given day at Elle's, residents can be found enjoying activities such as watching TV in recliner chairs in the living room or engaging in hobbies like reading and knitting.

During their search for suitable adult family homes, this family visited several options before settling on Elle's. Ultimately, they were impressed by the warm and welcoming environment created by Elle and her staff members. Moreover, they appreciated her knowledge and conscientious approach towards caring for this specific population.

However, a recurring concern mentioned in the reviews is the high cost of residing at Elle's Adult Family Home. While it offers an excellent setting and top-notch care, the fees charged were deemed outrageous by some residents or their family members.

In conclusion, Elle's Adult Family Home stands out for its comfortable and peaceful environment, as well as its attentive caregivers. Despite concerns about unnecessary hospital transfers during end-of-life situations, Elle and her staff take pride in offering a home-like setting for their residents. While the fees may be considered steep by some, those who can afford it may find solace in knowing that their loved ones receive quality care at Elle's.
