Port is the first and only choice if a family member needs to re-enter a nursing home. Port Healthcare Center is a brand-new building that is very nice. The people at Port are very nice, and the food is wonderful.
They advised others not to use this facility. The facility had poor management. The facility was understaffed. The staff did not follow through on any care plans. The relative deteriorated in rehab, and staff did nothing to stop it. They took an independent man and nearly left him a shell of his former self. If someone loves their family member, they should not take them there. The facility gave a 90-year-old relative a notice to vacate within 48 hours. The reviewer would never recommend a facility that would do this to an elderly patient. Some staff were not helpful. There were long wait times to be helped to the restroom or when the call button was used.
