Review

Moving a loved one into a care home can often be a challenging adjustment, and this has certainly been the case for my mother. However, upon arrival at this particular care home, we were immediately struck by its pleasant appearance and the excellent job they do in maintaining cleanliness. The staff members have also been consistently kind and attentive, which has helped ease some of our concerns.

One aspect that does worry me is the high turnover rate among the caregivers. It seems that new faces come and go frequently, which can create an unsettling atmosphere for residents who thrive on routine and familiarity. Fortunately, the owner of the care home appears to be handling this matter adequately. They have been proactive in addressing any issues and have shown willingness to work closely with us in developing a personalized care plan for my mother.

One area where improvement could be made is in the provision of activities for residents. While the care home excels in maintaining a clean environment and providing attentive staff members, there are limited options when it comes to recreational pursuits. Engaging in various activities can greatly enhance the well-being of individuals residing in such facilities, fostering social connections and stimulating cognitive abilities. Therefore, it would beneficial if more diverse activities were offered at this care home.

On a positive note, my mother's dietary needs are being met adequately here. She is eating well, although we are currently working together with the care home staff to encourage her to adopt healthier eating habits. This collaborative effort between us and the caregivers is truly appreciated as it demonstrates their dedication to promoting overall wellness among residents.

In conclusion, while there have been some adjustments to overcome during my mother's stay at this care home, it is evident that efforts are being made to create a comfortable living space for all residents. The cleanliness of the facility is commendable, as is the kindness displayed by the staff members. However, improvements could be made regarding caregiver turnover rates and activity offerings. Nonetheless, I am grateful for the owner's cooperation in developing a tailored care plan for my mother and the ongoing support provided to help her adopt healthier eating habits. Together, we are making progress in this new chapter of her life.
