Harbor View has been welcoming and accommodating to residents with Alzheimer's. The staff are patient and willing to meet residents' needs. The facility is warm and inviting and doesn't have a nursing-home feel to it. They provide a plethora of daily activities for residents to participate in. Families report that their moms are very happy in Harbor View. Harbor View provides a sense of calm for families knowing their loved ones are in great care all day. Harbor View is a beautiful community with friendly staff, spacious apartments, and happy residents. Anita and the office staff are extremely knowledgeable, and their communication is impressive, going the extra mile to help with transitions and therapy. All of the staff seem to truly care about residents' health and happiness. The activities are part of a warm, positive living environment. The facility is clean and updated, with great homemade food and amazing staff. The staff pay attention to residents and ensure they take their pills on time. They encourage residents to participate in activities, especially bingo. Families are grateful to have selected Harbor View. The Dad has found a wonderful home at Harmony; the staff are helpful and personable, and he enjoys greeting staff and friends and participating in activities. Harmony provides excellent care that makes their Dad feel at home and happy.
The facility is run down and never really clean. There has been a revolving door of administrators and caregivers, with six administrators in two years. The food is awful most days and only good on days the part-time cook prepares meals. Residents are not getting what they pay for. A dementia patient was not guided to the dining room, and caregivers did not bring her there as they should have. The Ensign Group is all about money and not the well-being of the residents.
