Review

Unlimited Possibilities (UP) is a senior community located in Mint Hill on Thompson Rd. The first reviewer stumbled upon the homes while riding past and noticed Elevations signage in the yard, assuming there was an event happening. However, they discovered that these were actually four homes designed for the senior community. Intrigued by what they saw, they approached one of the caregivers at the home on the hill and were amazed by the elegance and beauty of the place. Not only did it seem like a great place for elder patients, but they were so impressed that they wanted to move in themselves. They immediately inquired about getting their grandmother into one of the homes and were able to tour and move her in within 14 days. Over a month later, they still rave about the care provided and praise the management team.

The second reviewer had a similar experience when coming across UP. They also noticed Elevation signs and decided to investigate further. They found four elegant homes specifically designed for senior living, with each house accommodating six residents and having its own caregiver. After ringing the doorbell at one of the homes, they were let in by a caregiver using a code and were pleasantly surprised by what awaited them inside. The residents appeared well-groomed and engaged in various activities. This reviewer was so impressed that they immediately called their family to suggest moving their grandmother into UP. After touring two days later, their grandmother moved in just 14 days after that. With over a month passed since then, this reviewer expresses happiness with the staff and commends the wonderful management team.

However, not all reviewers share such positive experiences with UP. One individual who had been there for four years reflects on how things deteriorated over time due to employee turnover from management down to caregivers. Communication became almost non-existent despite repeated attempts to contact management, leading to frustration among residents' families. The house itself was poorly maintained, with leaks in ceilings, black mold, sewer problems, and water and cable outages. Injuries started occurring without explanation, as caregivers did not communicate with each other effectively. Additionally, the activities person seemed uninvolved and simply watched TV instead of engaging residents. All of these factors led this reviewer to conclude that it was time to move their loved one out of UP.

Another reviewer has a harsher assessment of the owner, referring to them as a "slum lord" who mistreated their mother. They claim that despite informing both the owner and staff about a bed bug infestation in their mother's room, no action was taken to exterminate them. As a result, their mother suffered from bites and rashes. This reviewer also discovered that the owner had multiple properties in Charlotte that were falling down, leading to numerous code enforcement calls. They even alleged that the owner attempted an illegal eviction after receiving payment for the month.

In contrast to these negative experiences, another reviewer praises UP for its memory care facilities. They toured seven different facilities before finding Unlimited Possibilities, which stood out due to its individual luxury homes accommodating only six patients each. These homes provided a more personal and homely experience compared to larger facilities, despite being similarly priced or even cheaper. While one commenter mentioned concerns about the neighborhood near City View home not being the best, they reassured others that it is situated on several beautiful acres. Similarly, The Villages at Mint Hill is located on a former horse farm with plenty of space around each home.

In summary, reviews for Unlimited Possibilities are quite mixed. Some individuals had positive experiences and praised the elegance and care provided by staff members and management team. However, others encountered issues such as poor communication, employee turnover, lack of maintenance, unexplained injuries among residents, and inaction regarding pest control. It is important for families considering UP as an option for their loved ones to carefully evaluate these contrasting reviews before making a decision.
