Review

Regina was a no-show for our appointment, leaving me to speak with her husband. Upon arriving at the home, I immediately noticed that it was a split-level house. However, my initial impression was marred by the lack of cleanliness and the fact that it wasn't wheelchair accessible. The state of disarray in the home left much to be desired, and I couldn't help but feel put off.

One glaring issue that stood out to me was the severe shortage of staff in relation to the number of residents. With only one staff person responsible for eight individuals, it became evident that personalized care and attention would be lacking. Additionally, what concerned me further was the absence of memory care services. For those who require specialized assistance due to memory impairments, this facility may not be an ideal choice.

Despite its drawbacks, there were a few positive aspects worth mentioning. One notable advantage was its convenient location. The home boasted a nice deck and yard, providing ample opportunity for outdoor activities and relaxation. However, these attractive features were overshadowed by the dire need for renovation inside. The small upstairs bathroom and cramped rooms left much to be desired in terms of comfort and personal space.

During my visit, I didn't have the chance to interact with any other patients residing at the facility. When inquiring about them, I was informed that there were four others living there, with their oldest resident being only 65 years old. This raised concerns about whether this particular home could adequately cater to my father's needs as he required specialized care for his age group.

Another drawback worth pointing out is that smokers resided in the house who frequently smoked on the deck area. This can pose health risks not only for those sensitive to secondhand smoke but also create an unpleasant environment overall.

After careful consideration of all these factors, I have come to the conclusion that this home is simply not suitable for my father's needs. The lack of cleanliness, the absence of necessary facilities such as wheelchair accessibility and memory care services, along with the overcrowded nature of the facility, are major deterrents. While the location and outdoor features may seem appealing at first glance, it's clear that significant improvements need to be made within the home itself before it can truly be considered a suitable living environment for seniors.
