Overall Review of Crown Senior Living
Pros
The facility was clean and the staff were friendly and caring towards the residents.
The tours were excellent and thorough, and the community looked clean.
The staff at Crown Senior Living is amazing, and the rooms are very nice.
The staff seems overwhelmed but overall the experience at Crown Senior Living has been good.
The staff at Crown Senior Living are very friendly and kind.
The leaders and team members at this facility show respect for the dignity of those who live there.
Cons
Crown Senior Living is a horrible place to live or work.
Many rooms, especially on the third floor, have been long infested with bed bugs.
Management is terrible as well. They all look down at their residents always thinking they can replace you with a better "class" of residents.
The only "priority" they have is in making money by cutting costs at every corner. There is no care being doled out here.
The staff seems overwhelmed and the management does not seem to think there is a problem.
The medical staff are not there all the time and they are too busy to get people seen in time.
I thought maybe my mom was confused so I talked to crown about it and they said they could not take people to appointments.... but we already had transportation set up for my mom and besides I take her places myself all the time.
This is a awful place for any resident to live. The Executive Director is a racist! Priority Life Care of Fort Wayne manages them and they allow this current member of the Ku Klux Klan KKK to stay there and she has the police called there daily to save her because when she use them racial words to the residents the staff get mad.
Out of all the staff here there are 4 people who truly care about us. The bus has been broken for 2 months and they always run out of food at dinner time and you do not get seconds. I have been given other residents medicine before!
Review
Crown Senior Living is a facility that has received mixed reviews. While some employees and residents have praised the cleanliness, friendly staff, and their dedication to care, others have expressed concerns about the management, lack of amenities, such as Wi-Fi and laundry facilities, and the quality of food provided. It is important to note that there are two conflicting perspectives on this facility.
One former employee commended Crown Senior Living for its cleanliness and friendly staff. They felt that the facility genuinely cared about its residents. Additionally, they mentioned that renovations were underway which would likely improve the overall quality of the facility.
However, other reviews have painted a much different picture. One individual gave Crown Senior Living a one-star rating due to their negative experiences. They claimed that many rooms were infested with bed bugs, Wi-Fi coverage was unreliable or non-existent, and edible food was rarely available in sufficient quantities. The reviewer also criticized the management for their perceived disregard for residents and their preference for wealthier clientele. They accused the parent company, Priority Life Care, of prioritizing profits over providing adequate care.
Another review echoed similar sentiments about Crown Senior Living's poor management and lack of care for residents. They described an incident where their mother's swollen foot went unnoticed by staff who deemed it non-serious when it required hospitalization and potential amputation. The reviewer also claimed that Crown Senior Living attempted to restrict their mother from receiving medical care outside of the facility without explanation.
Conversely, there are positive reviews from individuals who were pleased with their experience at Crown Senior Living. One reviewer praised the friendly staff and excellent food provided at the facility. Another appreciated the dedicated leaders and team members who demonstrated respect towards residents' dignity.
Despite these positive experiences shared by some individuals, other reviewers criticized Priority Life Care's takeover of management at Crown Senior Living. They alleged significant changes impacting resident satisfaction: broken transportation system, limited food availability during dinner hours leading to no seconds, and even medication mix-ups.
In summary, Crown Senior Living has received both positive and negative feedback. While some reviewers commend the facility for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and dedication to residents' care, others have expressed concerns about management, lack of amenities, and issues with food quality. It is important for potential residents and their families to thoroughly research and tour the facility in order to make an informed decision based on their individual needs and preferences.
