The Rockwell House is a gem of a find. Milledgeville's hidden gem. The Blue Room was luxurious and private, far more comfortable than many high-end places. The remodel is gorgeous, and the owner is fantastic and accommodating. Everything is impeccably decorated, with each detail thoughtfully curated. This is a beautifully renovated antebellum mansion. Rockwell House is one of Georgia's finest (and affordable) new venues/accommodations. It would be a wonderful place for a special event.
The inside of the house was disgusting. The dishwasher was backed up, and there was a terrible smell coming from it. The lower level of the house was infested with bed bugs. Some furnishings were not up to code because the house was older. The stairs were dangerous and the banisters were very weak, causing fear when using the staircase. The homeowner was racist; once he realized the guests were Black, the treatment changed and renting there would not be recommended.
