Nestled in a neighborhood that boasts beautiful walking loops and limited auto traffic, it seemed like an ideal environment for leisurely strolls and community interactions. With high hopes, I anticipated what this new chapter could offer.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a clean, organized space that radiated orderliness. The atmosphere was inviting, and the director on site was exceptionally helpful in providing insights into the facility's operations and resident care protocols. The tour began with a glimpse of one of the rooms available for residents – well-appointed and spacious enough to feel comfortable without being overwhelming. It certainly appeared as though they had put thought into creating a pleasant living environment that would feel like home.

With positive impressions forming, I continued to explore the facility further; however, things took a concerning turn as I learned more about staff-to-resident ratios. A significant red flag emerged during our conversation: there were only two attendants responsible for caring for 16 residents in the building. While it is certainly commendable that these attendants also handle cleaning duties across the entire establishment and prepare three meals each day, the structure raises pressing questions regarding how effectively they could attend to individual resident needs amid such extensive responsibilities.

Considering the demanding nature of caregiving work, it became evident that two attendants may not be sufficient to address all basic care requirements adequately or provide personalized assistance when needed. One cannot help but wonder how much time these attendants could realistically dedicate to each resident when their roles extend beyond direct care to encompass cooking and maintaining cleanliness throughout the building.
