The rehabilitation center was welcoming, with Sophie and the staff greeting residents with open arms. Travis and Lauren were very helpful with their grandmother's physical therapy and deserved a big shout-out. Sophie was understanding, patient, and knowledgeable. The facility has a homelike feeling, and the staff genuinely care about the residents. Vancouver Specialty has a wonderful staff - the respiratory team, nursing team, and office staff have all been wonderful. Mitchell, a day-shift nurse, was wonderful and clearly cared for the residents. The doctors and nurses provided attentive care and effective pain management, such as Dr. Waheed ensuring medications when needed. A Caring Closet offers free equipment for home use, described as a huge blessing.
The kitchen staff couldn't read English or didn't care. The CNAs yelled down the hallways at night and failed to communicate with the patient. The call lights down the hall were left on for hours. They did not ensure the patient had enough heart medication to last three days. The patient did not get a decent night's sleep during the stay. The staff left the patient without meds, barely bathed him, and provided basically zero therapy. They left the oxygen line full of fluid multiple times, nearly causing death.
