Review

Grandma's visit to a nursing facility six months ago left a lasting impression on the reviewer. The staff was not only helpful and friendly, but the residents themselves were also welcoming. It created an environment that felt like a family. Additionally, the facility stood out for its excellent food and cleanliness, leading even nurses from other nursing facilities in Houston to praise it.

Despite not being a new facility, Mexia Long Term care was well-maintained and always clean with a pleasant smell. The daily activities and church services provided entertainment and spiritual support for the residents. Moreover, they even had a beauty shop offering comprehensive services - an extra touch that enhanced the overall experience.

However, there seems to be a stark contrast between the advertised images of this nursing home and the reality experienced by another reviewer who frequents the place. According to this individual, the facility consistently had an unpleasant smell and served barely edible food to its residents. The lack of consistent care resulted in some patients sitting in their own bodily fluids for extended periods of time until they suffered skin irritation.

The negligence witnessed by this reviewer was so distressing that they contemplated reporting it to the state board. Such disregard for proper care deeply saddened them, especially since they could see their friend suffering as a result. In fact, this negative experience made them adamant about avoiding any possibility of subjecting their loved ones or even their pets to such neglectful conditions.

In summary, while one review paints Mexia Long Term Care as an exceptional facility with friendly staff, welcoming residents, cleanliness, great food, engaging activities, and even beauty services; another exposes a harsh reality of foul smells, barely edible food offerings, inadequate care resulting in prolonged discomfort for patients leading to skin issues. Despite these contrasting accounts, both reviewers share their honest experiences - one glowing with satisfaction while the other reflects deep concern and disappointment.
