Review

Volunteering at a nursing home for the past six to seven months has been an eye-opening experience for me. Witnessing the dedication and compassion of the employees towards the patients has truly touched my heart. Each individual is treated with kindness, respect, and the dignity that they deserve. I cannot help but feel immensely grateful for these employees who have taken on a job that many of us won't or can't do. They truly deserve all blessings for their selflessness.

Currently, my mother resides in Burleson St. Joseph Manor, a nursing home conveniently located near our home. I am familiar with this facility and have found it to be a wonderful place for her. The staff members are attentive and caring, and I genuinely appreciate their efforts. Moreover, my mother enjoys the food provided at the nursing home - she always mentions how good it tastes.

However, it saddens me to admit that not all experiences at nursing homes are positive ones. On several occasions during one of my visits, I discovered that my uncle had not been given a bath by the nurse assigned to him. Furthermore, we later learned that he had not been receiving his prescribed pain medication as instructed. Due to neglect, he even developed a painful bed sore which ultimately landed him in the hospital. Unfortunately, such incidents highlight the need for continuous improvement in some nursing homes.

On a more positive note, my husband has been receiving exceptional care at his nursing home. The staff treats him like family and always greets him warmly by name with cheerful smiles on their faces. They extend this warm treatment not only to him but also to any visiting family members like myself. Additionally, whenever there are changes in my husband's health, behavior or roommate situation, they promptly inform me - displaying their dedication and attentiveness towards his well-being.

The physical environment of this particular nursing home is also worth mentioning. It boasts spaciousness combined with ample natural light and an open layout that creates a welcoming atmosphere. The cleanliness of the facility is commendable, as it never smells like urine or any other unpleasant odors. Activities are regularly organized for the residents, ensuring their engagement and overall well-being.

Moreover, I appreciate that my husband's clothing has never been misplaced by the staff. As simple as it may seem, this attention to detail alleviates unnecessary stress and concern from our lives. Furthermore, the food served at the nursing home is not only delicious but also enjoyed by our teenage children when they join us for meals with my husband. It is heartening to find a facility that takes family situations into account, with the administrator allowing us to have special family meals on a weekly basis.

After experiencing disappointments with two other nursing homes in the past, we feel incredibly thankful to have found Burleson St. Joseph Manor. This facility has provided exceptional care and support to my husband, bringing immense relief to our entire family. We are grateful for this opportunity to share our positive experience and express our gratitude towards all those who make BSJM a remarkable place for those in need of care and assistance.
