The admin team is great and there are long-term employees. The therapy team is great. Residents are happy. It is a caring facility that puts residents first. The staff is courteous and kind. The nurse aides work hard to help residents and pursue further education to meet their goals. The building is clean with no lingering odors, and there is no theft or fighting. It is the cleanest, safest, and best personal care home the reviewer has seen.
Southern Oaks may have been a good place at one time but not anymore. The way my mother was treated was not good. She was not well cared for, she got bed sores and was man handled by one of the nurses and had to go to the hospital for treatment. Horrible and hostile work environment, extremely unprofessional administration and nursing coordinators. The staff is also lacking in professional courtesy and there is constant juvenile antics at play on the floor. As far as resident care, I would not put my family there...
