Heartland and its employees have given her spirit back. They are truly loving, compassionate, and attentive to her every need. Heartland has provided a comfortable and caring environment. The PT and OT staff are fabulous and provide excellent care. Heartland Healthcare is clean and the community is beautiful.
The staff at the Catholic Memory Care facility showed no interaction or compassion towards the patient with end stage dementia. The doctor at the facility never responded to multiple requests for communication from the family. The individual who stayed at the facility after surgery for a distal femur fracture experienced a lack of support, discomfort, and sarcastic and useless support from the staff. The patient's family had numerous complaints about the care provided at the facility, including bedsores not being discovered by staff, inadequate changing and repositioning of the patient, insensitivity and incompetence in communication with family members, lack of knowledge about the patient's medical condition, and poor documentation. The evening staff at the facility were described as apathetic and indifferent, not providing necessary items in the room or understanding medical issues. One individual had a negative experience with mistreatment by staff, incorrect prescription given, and weird food.
