Review

North Mobile Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was the chosen facility for a loved one after being discharged from the hospital. Despite its convenient location and proximity to family, the experience was far from satisfactory. The family had to insist on her being sent back to the hospital due to their loved one's deteriorating health. Inattentiveness seemed to be a recurring issue throughout their stay at this older, poorly maintained building.

Upon arrival, it became evident that cleanliness was not a priority at North Mobile Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The room assigned to their loved one had a roommate who left food and crackers scattered on the floor, with even more concerning evidence of poor hygiene - a catheter spillage that was merely mopped around by staff. It is disheartening to think that such negligence could occur in a place meant for healing and care.

The lack of activities for residents further highlighted the lackluster atmosphere within the facility. Except for long-term residents making their way in an orderly fashion towards the smoking area, there seemed to be minimal engagement or entertainment provided for those staying at North Mobile Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. This lack of stimulation surely contributed to feelings of isolation and boredom amongst residents.

While there were a couple of staff members who showed kindness and were helpful, overall attentiveness towards their loved one's needs was lacking. Deeming this neglect simply as inattentiveness would be an understatement; it indicated a severe failure in providing proper care for vulnerable individuals who depend on these facilities for their well-being.

One aspect where North Mobile Nursing and Rehabilitation Center seemed competent was meal planning. The kitchen area managed to provide balanced meals consistently, giving some respite amidst other disappointing aspects encountered during their stay. However, this silver lining hardly compensated for the overall negative experience suffered by their loved one.

In another instance of questionable care within nursing homes, Eight Mile Nursing and Rehabilitation failed to meet expectations as well. The nurses were pleasant during visits but the family held suspicions that their actions contributed to their father's untimely death. Within days of being transferred to this facility, their father experienced an alarming decline in health. He went from being awake and alert to constantly sleeping throughout the day, rendering him unresponsive even when family members came to visit.

The family's concerns were further heightened when their father required hospitalization for several weeks before being discharged in a less than ideal condition. Sadly, a few weeks later, he passed away. Their belief is that Eight Mile Nursing and Rehabilitation sedated him to avoid dealing with his needs, leading to neglect in providing proper hydration which ultimately worsened his condition and ultimately played a role in his death.

It is distressing to hear such accounts of inadequate care within nursing homes. These experiences serve as a reminder of the importance of thorough research and due diligence when selecting facilities for loved ones who require long-term or rehabilitative care. The well-being and safety of vulnerable individuals should always remain paramount, inspiring necessary changes within these institutions to ensure proper attention, cleanliness, and holistic care are provided at all times.
