For the past seven years, I have had the privilege of being affiliated with a facility that truly stands out in terms of cleanliness, amenities, and care. The facility is equipped with LED flat screen televisions in all rooms, offering a modern touch to residents' living spaces. Additionally, there are laundry and housekeeping services available to ensure a comfortable and tidy environment for everyone. The presence of a licensed dietician overseeing the food management ensures not only delicious meals but also healthy ones.
One aspect that sets this facility apart from others is the level of personalized care each resident receives from the professional team. The one-on-one attention and dedication shown by the staff leave a lasting impression on both residents and their families. With 24-hour supervision, families can find comfort in knowing their loved ones are always being looked after.
However, it is essential to provide an impartial view, and unfortunately, one reviewer's experience did not align with these positive aspects. Valrie, the owner and director of the facility, failed to follow through on promises made regarding their mother's care. This included an immediate price increase for extra care that was not fully delivered as expected.
Regrettably, once placed at this facility, the reviewer's mother did not receive adequate personal care. Despite needing assistance with using the toilet and taking showers, she was left in diapers throughout her stay. This lack of attention led to her hair becoming consistently greasy and dirty.
The absence of interactive activities or outings impacted the quality of life for residents. The lack of engagement left individuals confined to their beds or recliners in front of TVs playing programs that were not appealing or interesting. Even attempts to change channels were rejected by staff members.
While the facility itself was well-furnished and maintained cleanliness diligently, there were some shortcomings when it came to certain aspects such as food quality and variety. Although they managed to feed residents patiently, the meals lacked appeal.
In times of need, the facility did come through and accommodate the reviewer's family during their loved one's last days. They allowed family members to stay around the clock, offering comfort and support during a difficult time.
However, it is disappointing to note that Valrie took an excessive amount of time to return the deposit, creating unnecessary inconvenience for the reviewer. Furthermore, her unwillingness to comply with a request for a late fee refund—a practice routinely enforced on residents—reflects an inconsistency in her management style.
In conclusion, while this facility boasts many admirable features such as cleanliness, amenities, and dedicated staff members providing personalized care, it is crucial for potential residents and their families to consider all aspects before making a decision. The experiences shared by reviewers regarding broken promises, lack of personal care, limited activities, and delayed refunds highlight areas where improvement is needed. It is essential for both facility owners and caretakers to maintain transparency and consistency in order to provide the highest standard of care for all residents.

Medication management is a critical feature in a memory care setting, ensuring that residents receive their prescribed medications accurately and on time, which can significantly mitigate potential health complications associated with non-compliance. This structured approach not only enhances the overall health of residents but also alleviates stress for families who may worry about their loved ones managing complex medication schedules independently. Incontinence care, on the other hand, addresses a common challenge faced by individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, as cognitive decline can lead to difficulties in recognizing bodily signals. By offering compassionate and respectful incontinence management, staff can maintain residents' dignity while promoting comfort and hygiene, ultimately contributing to a supportive environment where individuals feel safe and cared for.
