Overall Review
Pros
The community has the best cook.
They offer an alternative menu if residents don't like what is being served.
The facility is beautiful and allows residents to bring their pets.
The rooms are nice, with apartments that have a walk-in closet, bedroom, kitchenette, and spacious living room.
The staff is caring, knowledgeable, respectful, honest, friendly, and more.
The facility is a dream come true for residents.
The staff handles concerns quickly and is very understanding.
The food served is good and nutritious.
The outside of the facility is pleasant with beautiful woods surrounding it.
Cons
The food has been a disappointment to our loved one, the flavor and presentation is not up to her liking.
I agree with other reviews. Wanted to add that there is not a nurse on staff. They hire out a nurse that comes in once a week that you never get to see. She quit Milestone because of them doing things illegally and didn't want to lose her license.
They tell you that housekeeping is included but your apartment never has been cleaned because there is no housekeeper. Rip off!!!!
Overpriced. Understaffed.
Uneducated staff is responsible for medication administration and have a track record of getting wrong medication or not getting it at all!
Meals are not healthy or nutritious as management also gets a bonus to keep meal costs down.
For what you pay to stay here, you are better off staying at home and hiring a personal caregiver.
Review
Milestone Community has garnered mixed reviews from its residents and their families. One recurring positive aspect is the quality of the staff members. Many reviewers highlight their caring nature, knowledge, and respect towards the residents. The staff is described as being readily available to answer any concerns or questions, ensuring that residents feel supported and valued.
The community itself is often praised for its cleanliness and beautiful facilities. Visitors are impressed by the well-maintained surroundings and the option for residents to bring their pets along with them. The rooms are mentioned as being spacious and equipped with essential amenities, such as a kitchenette, walk-in closet, and comfortable living space. However, one reviewer mentions that their loved one was dissatisfied with the food's taste and presentation.
Another reviewer expresses great satisfaction with Milestone Community, describing it as a dream come true for their 95-year-old father. The compassionate staff is highlighted again, along with prompt handling of any concerns or issues raised by residents. The emphasis on providing good nutrition through well-prepared meals is also praised.
Although most reviews speak positively about Milestone Community, there are some negative comments as well. One reviewer claims that there is no nurse on staff but rather an outsourced nurse who visits once a week unseen by residents. These allegations suggest potential irregularities in the community's operations.
Another negative review asserts that Milestone Community is overpriced and understaffed. The reviewer claims that management prioritizes bonuses over resident care, running on a point-based system where care points increase after 30 days of residency. Additionally, they state concerns about uneducated staff administering medications incorrectly or neglecting to do so altogether.
Furthermore, this review criticizes the quality of meals provided to residents due to cost-cutting measures imposed by management. The reviewer argues that for the amount paid to reside in the community, individuals would be better off hiring a personal caregiver while staying at home.
Overall, it seems that Milestone Community has positive aspects such as attentive staff, cleanliness, and comfortable living spaces. However, concerns have been raised regarding outsourced nursing, potential management focus on bonuses over care, and the quality of meals. As with any facility, it is recommended for potential residents or their families to thoroughly investigate these matters firsthand before making a decision.
