Review

Mirror Lake Village, a senior living community, has received mixed reviews from residents and their families. One reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the facility, particularly regarding the medical care provided. They were initially misled about the presence of a nurse on staff, only to discover that an LPN was responsible for making important decisions regarding healthcare. This led to a concerning incident where the LPN hesitated to call 911 when their loved one fell ill with Covid-19 symptoms. The family had to take matters into their own hands and called emergency services themselves. It was then revealed that their loved one tested positive for Covid-19, and they were sent back to Mirror Lake after receiving treatment at the hospital.

However, upon returning to Mirror Lake, the family was kept apart from their loved one for five days due to quarantine protocols. To make matters worse, when they finally planned a visit on the sixth day, they learned from a phone call with Mirror Lake's administration that their loved one's condition had worsened significantly and he was being sent back to the hospital again. The family expressed frustration over not being informed of this change in condition.

The reviewer further alleged neglectful care during those five days as they believed their loved one was left lying flat despite having purchased an adjustable bed. They suspected that this negligence contributed to the rapid deterioration of his lungs. Sadly, he passed away three days later at the hospital.

While critical of certain decision-makers within Mirror Lake Village's management team and medical staff, the reviewer did have positive things to say about the daily caregivers who fed and attended to their loved one. However, overall, they would not recommend Mirror Lake Village due to their negative experiences.

Another reviewer acknowledged that while they had initially been impressed with an in-person tour of Mirror Lake Village, ultimately location became a deciding factor against choosing this community for their loved one.

This second reviewer also noted some issues with communication and home health aides. Conflicting information was provided by the home health aides and the onsite nurse, resulting in confusion for the family. While understanding that Mirror Lake Village is a newer facility still finding its footing, they felt that better communication could improve the overall experience.

Despite these concerns, the reviewer praised the staff members as being caring and described them as "angels." They recognized the cleanliness and appearance of the community, appreciating its pleasant atmosphere.

Another aspect mentioned was the limited number of activities offered. With only one activities director serving both assisted living and memory care residents, there was room for improvement. Nonetheless, this reviewer believed Mirror Lake Village to be a suitable place for seniors due to its convenient location and enthusiastic staff.

In summary, Mirror Lake Village has received mixed feedback from residents and their families. While some have praised the caring and knowledgeable staff members, others expressed disappointment over issues related to medical care, communication, and limited activities. Potential residents should carefully consider both positive and negative aspects before making a decision.
