Review

Tina and the entire team at Taylormade Care gave my mother exceptional care during her time there. From the very start, it was clear that their approach was grounded in genuine concern and a steady, attentive presence. The warmth and dedication of the staff shone through in every interaction, and it was evident that my mom was in capable, compassionate hands.

In our search, we visited several larger Adult Family Homes in the area. While some of these places appeared more polished or upscale, we soon saw a recurring pattern among them: higher turnover among staff, a prevalence of residents with dementia, and a sense that the community got lost in the shuffle amid the constant flow of people coming and going. Those experiences left us feeling worried about continuity and connection, rather than truly belonging or feeling known.

Taylormade Care, by contrast, isn't the biggest or flashiest option, but its smaller, closer-knit team proved to be the real strength. The staff there sincerely cared about getting to know each resident as an individual. They took the time to understand my mother's daily needs, her routines, and her interests. This wasn't a checklist - it was a thoughtful, ongoing effort to tailor care to who she was, day by day.

A key part of that personalized approach was learning what my mom enjoyed and what mattered to her at mealtimes. The caregivers paid attention to her preferences and did their best to accommodate them whenever possible. They shared insights with one another regularly, which helped ensure that her care was coordinated and consistently attentive across shifts. This level of attentiveness made a tangible difference in her sense of care and comfort.

The result was a life that felt more engaging and meaningful for my mom. Because the staff genuinely knew her and respected her individuality, she remained socially and emotionally connected. She stayed active, not just physically but in spirit, with conversations and interactions that reflected her interests and personality. The daily rhythm at Taylormade Care became something she could look forward to, rather than a series of solitary moments.

When weather permitted, she enjoyed the simple pleasure of sitting on the front deck in the sun. Those small moments of outdoor time added a sense of normalcy and brightened her days, contributing to a higher quality of life during her time there. The environment was kept clean and welcoming, and the staff's friendly demeanor was a consistent presence that reinforced her sense of safety and belonging.

Perhaps most important, there was no sense of gaps in coverage, even through winter storms. The reliability and steadiness of the team meant she could trust that someone would always be there, ready to respond and provide support. That consistency translated into real peace of mind for our family and, most importantly, a feeling of safety and respect for my mom.

In the end, my mother felt safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. Her final years were marked by dignity, warmth, and moments of happiness that mattered deeply to us. We are truly grateful to Tina and all the staff at Taylormade Care for their kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication. Their care made a meaningful, lasting difference in her life, and for that, we will always be thankful.
