    Review

Elderwood Village at Ticonderoga offers an inviting atmosphere for those seeking a supportive and accommodating living environment. From the moment we arrived for our tour, it was evident that the facility prioritizes both cleanliness and safety, especially during these times of heightened concern regarding COVID-19. Upon entering, we promptly completed our screening and tests, which were handled efficiently by the staff. The clean and well-maintained surroundings immediately set a positive tone for our visit.

One of the standout features of Elderwood Village is its smaller size, which is particularly appealing to residents who prefer a more intimate setting. My mother has always felt overwhelmed in larger facilities that bustle with activity and large crowds, so finding a place with just eight other residents—where she would be the ninth—was reassuring. The staff's friendly demeanor further enhanced our experience; they were approachable and considerate throughout our time there. During my mother's assessment, their kindness shone through as they took extra care to provide her with necessary information while easing her nerves about moving away from her hometown.

My mother expressed particular satisfaction regarding her living arrangements within Elderwood Village. She was pleased to learn that she would have a small room equipped with a private bath and shower—a feature she specifically desired for comfort and privacy. Additionally, the provision of a comfortable bed along with an opportunity to bring a few cherished pieces of furniture helped foster a sense of familiarity amidst change. The administration team assured us that they would closely manage her medication needs, which eased any lingering concerns related to her health management.

The common areas within the facility were equally impressive. The dining room boasted a pleasant ambiance where meals are served in a cozy setting perfect for socializing without feeling crowded or rushed. With only thirteen spots available total, residents can enjoy meals together while forming connections in a more relaxed atmosphere. My mother noted how bright and cheerful the dining area felt due to ample natural light streaming through windows—plus, she enjoyed glimpses of stunning views overlooking the Green Mountains outside.

Beyond dining options, Elderwood Village provides various recreational spaces designed for resident engagement and relaxation. There is an inviting gathering room where residents can watch movies, engage in puzzles or reading activities, or simply socialize among peers—a vital aspect for maintaining emotional well-being among seniors. Moreover, although it was winter during our visit, there’s an outdoor courtyard equipped with shaded seating; we learned that barbecues take place there during warmer months to enrich communal living experiences further.

Another significant factor contributing to my overall approval of Elderwood Village is its thoughtful layout regarding healthcare services and accessibility concerns. A pharmacy conveniently located on-site ensures ease in obtaining medications without unnecessary travel, while also providing transportation options for local medical appointments like dentist visits when needed becomes essential as my mother prepares for hip replacement surgery shortly after moving in—the rehabilitation center being located directly below her unit makes this transition seamless as well.

Overall, I would rate Elderwood Village at Ticonderoga five stars due not only to its excellent facilities but also because of how warmly staff interacted with my mother throughout our visit—from answering questions thoroughly to introducing us to kitchen staff members who prepare tailored meal options catering specifically to dietary restrictions they might face—all demonstrated pleasantness indicative of their commitment towards creating an ideal home-like environment for residents such as my mother who appreciate attentive service partnered alongside comfortable accommodations Moreover seeing other diners enjoying what appeared delectable dishes reinforced confidence about their culinary offerings thus leaving me optimistic about potential future experiences here!
