    Review

I found this amazing place by working with the Passaro Group, and the journey to bringing my wheelchair-bound mom from Oklahoma to Active turned into a carefully coordinated effort that required a great deal of planning. The move itself felt like a big step, but the process was made smoother by the team's clear communication and willingness to accommodate the unique needs involved. The transition was handled with thoughtfulness and sensitivity, and it set a calm tone for what lay ahead during a challenging time.

Candice at Active proved to be a pivotal presence throughout the entire process. She was not only incredibly helpful but also wonderfully flexible in getting my mom admitted, recognizing the urgency and logistics that can accompany such a move. The sense of partnership with Candice grew from practical assistance to genuine support, and it was clear that she and the rest of the staff were invested in making the admission as smooth and stress-free as possible for our family. That level of flexibility and responsiveness made a real difference when every decision mattered.

The staff at Active consistently went out of their way to ensure my mom felt comfortable and cared for. It wasn't just professional kindness; it was personal attention that showed through in small but meaningful ways. The daily routine included home-cooked meals prepared fresh each day, which contributed to a sense of normalcy and warmth that is often hard to find in care settings. When they learned that my mom was lactose intolerant, Candice even arranged to purchase specific food items to accommodate her needs. That kind of proactive, attentive care underscored how deeply the team cared about her well-being and comfort.

As my mom's condition progressed, she eventually entered hospice care at Active. The prospect of moving her again was understandably daunting, but being able to keep her in one place - where she already knew the home, the staff, and the routines - felt like a true blessing. The continuity of environment and caregivers provided a reassuring sense of stability during a time that was already emotionally taxing. Staying where she was familiar with the people who had come to know her made the transition into hospice much less disruptive for her and our family.

In comparison to other facilities we toured, Active stood out in a very meaningful way. We visited several places, but Active was the only one that genuinely felt like a home rather than a clinical or impersonal space. It was exceptionally clean, and its design and atmosphere clearly conveyed a sense of privacy and peace. That environment - the feeling that you could relax and be at ease rather than being on display - made a significant difference in how comfortable we felt about my mom's care. It resonated with the kind of warmth and security we wanted during such a difficult period.

Overall, the experience was a blessing during a time that was otherwise filled with uncertainty and heartache. The combination of a supportive admission process, compassionate and attentive staff, considerate dietary accommodations, and the comforting, home-like atmosphere created a sense of relief and gratitude for our family. The care my mom received at Active - especially through Candice's leadership and the team's dedicated efforts - made a challenging journey more manageable and dignified, and it left us with lasting appreciation for the kindness and professionalism we encountered. The sense of trust we found there is something we will always be grateful for as we reflect on this chapter of our lives.
