The manager and staff were very good to mom. The food was really good and the staff were good to Dad when he visited. The management and staff are kind, courteous, and polite, and they respond when issues are brought to their attention. It was an amazing place for their loved one, able to handle all of dad's needs. The staff went above and beyond to provide care, including a private room, proximity to the nurse's station, frequent checks, and ongoing family communication. The facility is secure, clean, well maintained, and has a pleasant environment. They would recommend Hillcrest without reservation, even with longer travel time, because it was worth the happiness.
The management is absolutely terrible - they are unresponsive, unprofessional, and clearly only care about making money, not about residents' well-being. The rooms are filthy and infested with cockroaches. Residents are walking around in dirty diapers with no one attending to them for hours. The staff are often rude and even aggressive toward residents, yelling at them instead of offering care and patience. The beds are disgusting and clearly not cleaned regularly.
