The CNAs in the Sussex wing and the nursing staff are amazing. The physical and occupational therapists are outstanding. This is a wonderful facility for rehab. The care team made the resident feel cared for and preserved the resident's dignity. The director Andrew is very nice and truly caring. The staff communicate consistently, keeping families informed about the resident’s progress. The staff go above and beyond for residents.
They waited four hours for a pain pill and for a glass of water. The patient would wait hours on end for someone to help her to the bathroom. A nurse allegedly gave her an enema the previous night and did not record it; the day nurse tried to give one and perforated her bowel. She died from sepsis a couple days later. Harbor Healthcare refused to let the family see the patient in her room. A caregiver told her "I hate doing this" and walked out. The patient was neglected for hours on end; staff clearly didn't want to be there. Zero stars would be a more appropriate option for this place.
